🫐 It started with a blueberry.
More than 40 years ago, our family began growing blueberries here in the Waikato. But we made a decision very early on. We wanted to grow them organically. No synthetic pesticides. No synthetic herbicides. No synthetic fungicides. No GMOs. Back then, organic wasn’t fashionable. It wasn’t a supermarket trend. And there certainly wasn’t the consumer demand for organic food that exists today. We simply believed there had to be a better way to grow food. Four decades later, that belief is still at the heart of Monavale Blueberries. Today, thousands of blueberry plants grow across our family orchard, and every season another generation gets to continue what was started all those years ago. A lot has changed. The reason we grow organically hasn’t. 🫐🌱 Every choice matters. #MonavaleBlueberries #OrganicMatters #OrganicNZ #OrganicBlueberries #NZGrown #Waikato #CambridgeNZ #KnowYourGrower #FamilyFarm #Blueberries
One farm is not a study
Everything on this page is somebody's account of their own paddock, and it is worth reading precisely because of that. It is not evidence about organic farming in general, and we have not checked the claims in it the way we check a certificate. Where a number matters, the research page shows its source.
